The Bethel Sozo Ministry was birthed in 1997 out of Bethel Church in Redding, California by Dawna DeSilva and later Teresa Liebscher. From its beginnings in Redding, Bethel Sozo has expanded to many nations, with many churches and organisations worldwide being trained and equipped to start their own Sozo Ministry.
SOZO is the Greek word found 110 times in the New Testament which means to be made whole. The writers of the New Testament showed the completeness of the word Sozo by using it in different contexts to mean either “saved”, “healed” or “delivered”.
“That if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved (sozo).” Romans 10:9
“But Jesus turning and seeing her said, ‘Daughter take courage, your faith has made you well (sozo) and at once the woman was made well (sozo).” Matthew 9:22
“And those who had seen it reported to them how the man who was demon possessed had been made well (sozo).” Luke 8:36
Bethel Sozo is a unique inner healing and deliverance ministry aimed to get to the root of things hindering your personal connection with the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. Many people are living out of deep wounds from their past or even lies that have come against them to derail their future. During a Sozo session these tactics are uncovered and through forgiveness people are healed and released into freedom. With a healed connection and a renewed mind, you can walk in the destiny to which you have been called.
A Sozo session will last between 60 and 90 minutes and is a time for the Sozoee to walk through this process of forgiveness and freedom. Sozo is not a counselling session. Rather it’s a time of being guided in an interaction with Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit to see any hindrances or blockages to your relationship with the Godhead removed for intimacy and wholeness to come. Sozo aims to see the complete healing of body, soul and spirit and uses a range of ‘tools’ such as Father Ladder, Four Doors, Presenting Jesus, and The Wall to facilitate healing.
The goal of Bethel Sozo Ministry is to help people receive the full package of salvation, healing and deliverance. Testimonies from Sozo include seeing freedom come from sins of the past, destructive beliefs, emotional and spiritual pain and curses and oppression. When we are connected to the Godhead in a more intimate, unconstrained way, we can run our race and fulfil our destiny.
